Setting your course for MEDITECH 6.0
As we kick off the New Year and plan for what's ahead, MEDITECH's readiness to launch Client/Server 6.0 in 2008 is at the forefront.

The implementation of C/S 6.0 at West Georgia Health System is well underway, and Doylestown Hospital, a stalwart adopter and innovator in the MAGIC community, is well on the road to moving from MAGIC to C/S 6.0. Word out of Canton is that MEDITECH marketing representatives are exclusively demonstrating C/S 6.0 technology to new account prospects now. We recently assisted MEDITECH's Development and Marketing teams in creating an aggressively-virtualized environment for the further development and demonstration of C/S 6.0. With all the excitement, interest, and potential questions about six-dot-oh and what it might mean, we thought it would be useful to summarize some things we know and provide some inputs to your planning processes.  Click here for more (PDF)

We are thrilled to sponsor Ross Perot Sr. as a keynote speaker at
this year’s MUSE International conference.

Perot Systems is very committed to the MEDITECH community, as demonstrated by their acquisition of JJWild last summer. Mr. Perot welcomes the opportunity to speak to MUSE attendees. Mr. Perot is a passionate advocate for healthcare and will speak on the impact of technology in the healthcare industry. He will be presenting on Thursday May 29, 2008 at 8:15 am at the Gaylord Texan in Dallas, Texas.

 Virtualization: Considerations for Disaster Recovery
According to Murphy’s Law, whatever can go wrong, will go wrong. When talking about disaster recovery, this could range from a major power outage to a natural disaster. If an incident like this were to occur at your primary data center, how long would it take you to recover? Without a doubt, a major concern for any IT department is not only implementing a disaster recovery solution, but a manageable

Customer Engagement: JJWild’s Consulting Services Group Delivers for Norman Regional Hospital
Norman Regional Hospital is a multi-facility system in Oklahoma comprised of a 325-bed acute care facility, inpatient rehab unit, outpatient clinics, and physician office practices. Back in the beginning of 2006, the organization began a large IT initiative to implement the full suite of MEDITECH applications, including MEDITECH’s Advanced Clinical System. It was immediately obvious to Dr. Brian Yeaman, Director of Physician Informatics, and others at Norman Regional that they were going to need an outside consultancy firm to help them oversee the project. Dr. Yeaman felt that whoever managed the task of this new implementation would have to be a dynamic and strong leader who was diligent to every detail and profoundly organized. Norman Regional chose JJWild’s Consulting Services Group to help them with their conversion and implementation of their new MEDITECH HCIS.

JJWild was delighted to receive a wonderful letter of appreciation recently from Dr. Yeaman who stated that he can proudly say Norman Regional received everything they asked for from JJWild’s Consulting Services Group. Dr. Yeaman also commented that “Our JJWild Consultant (Susan Trianosky) was a strong and decisive leader whose leadership and drive to the finish line is what helped keep the teams moving and staying on target throughout the process. Her organization and attention to detail is what kept the project on target and her vast knowledge and understanding of the subject matter was impressive by any standards.”

The project is still running strong and Norman is scheduled to go live in early 2008. We are delighted to be working with Norman Regional to meet this goal.

JJWild Qualifies the Stratus 4400 for MEDITECH
JJWild has completed certification of the Stratus 4400, an affordable 1 or 2 socket system that’s a member of industry’s first fault-tolerant quad-core servers - the Stratus ftServer® family.

Designated “Best Fault-Tolerant Server” for InfoWorld’s 2008 Technology of the Year Awards, the ftServer 4400 system is a smart choice for MEDITECH users where business-critical computing is essential for applications such as Electronic Medical Records and the Advanced Clinical System.

In addition, the 4400’s value and performance will allow MEDITECH users to utilize Stratus’ “always on” IT solutions in more of their organization and - at the same time - minimize the number of servers they need to support.

JJWild becomes Platinum Partner with BridgeHead
In recognition of JJWild's extensive expertise and investment in infrastructure and professional services to support BridgeHead Software technology, BridgeHead announced on June 20, 2007 that JJWild has been elevated to a Platinum Partner and has earned certification at this program level. A long and successful relationship between JJWild and BridgeHead has enabled JJWild to become the largest volume partner of BridgeHead backup and disaster recovery products in the healthcare space.

The BridgeHead-JJWild relationship is based on a mutual commitment to providing solutions for users of the MEDITECH HCIS.

BridgeHead's ISB (Integrated Serverless Backup) and IDR (Integrated Disaster Recovery) techniques, developed with and specifically for MEDITECH, have been key components in over 100 JJWild installations. The ISB and IDR products from BridgeHead exploit SAN (Storage Area Network) technology and ensure recoverability of MEDITECH data, an important function that is not provided by generic backup products.

"We have been looking forward to an opportunity to articulate just how important JJWild's involvement is in deploying BridgeHead products, and we are pleased to welcome them as a Platinum Partner," said Tony Cotterill, President and Chief Executive Officer of BridgeHead Software. "SAN-based solutions can be complex and few healthcare organizations have the internal experience to integrate and manage data recovery, storage management, and the unique aspects of MEDITECH software. JJWild's services are key in making this sophisticated offering cost-effective and easy to operate."

Customer testimonial: JJWild delivers for Halton Healthcare Services (HHS)
Halton Healthcare Services Inc, (HHS), part of LHIN 6 Mississauga, Ontario, is a multi-site healthcare organization serving the communities of Milton, Oakville, Clarkson, and Halton Hills.

During the February, 2007 HIMSS conference, Vert Rayner, Director of IT at HHS approached JJWild with a dilemma: HHS was running out of disk space. They had acquired new servers and a storage area network, but the scheduled resources that Vert had arranged for the configuration and data migration were suddenly not available. Vert was given last minute notification at the conference that his project timeline would have to be pushed back well beyond the date when disk space would run out.

Within a day, JJWild provided HHS with a quote for the professional services required for the install of the new servers, a storage area network, and MEDITECH VPN (which provides MEDITECH remote support connectivity), and confirmed the scheduled date for an engineer to arrive onsite. The JJWild engineer was onsite the following week, and the upgrade was completed smoothly and on time.

Vert commented, “I was very pleased with JJWild's quick response and their understanding of our sense of urgency. They have a large pool of engineering talent to draw from and were able to quickly adjust their schedule and provide quality people on very short notice. We were duly impressed with the way JJWild stepped up and helped us out of this crisis. On the basis of this experience, JJWild will be the company we approach first in the future for all MEDITECH technology purchases.”
